Parachute Digital is growing up. After 10 years of providing digital fundraising excellence within the not-for-profit sector in Australia and New Zealand. Shanelle Newton Clapham (Founder and Chief Digital Consultant) has brought on two new Directors – Marnie Fleming (Director of New Initiatives) and Mamta Bhatt (Director of Strategy and Delivery) so that Parachute can deepen its impact in the for-purpose and non-profit sector and the causes we’re working to solve.

Shanelle says, “This collaboration is born from a deep yearning to be able to better service non-profits and their cause, clients and supporters, through the use of digital innovation”. Shanelle is known for her big ideas and drive to do more and better for the causes she is so passionate about. BUT she is only one woman and the demand for Parachute’s services is huge. She needed and wanted partners to help build the value we know we can offer. Mamta is a digital powerhouse and has been Shanelle’s right hand woman for 5 years now, and Marnie is an excellent talent, brings high energy and people management experience. “This partnership is built on years of trust and mutual respect,” says Shanelle.

Mamta’s new position will be focused on continuous improvement and innovations in campaign delivery. Marnie will be creating and directing a new division focusing on digital innovation, both inside and outside of the NFP sector. Shanelle made the decision to expand and grow her leadership team after 10 years of doing it alone. This trio of business-minded female leaders are one of the only female-owned and operated agencies in Australasia.

As Shanelle says, “three great minds are better than one.”

  • Marnie Fleming joins Parachute Digital in the role of Director of New Initiatives. Marnie’s background in the NFP sector is extensive, having been the Head of Brand and Individual Giving at Starship Children’s Hospital for the last four years, experience at Bluefrog Fundraising London and a long stint in the Advertising industry.
  • Mamta Bhatt has been promoted to the role of Director of Strategy and Delivery having worked as a Lead Digital Consultant at Parachute Digital for the last 5 years. Mamta’s immense skills and success in strategizing and delivering digital media campaigns over 10 years is second to none. 
  • The three owners and Directors are one of the only women-led digital agencies in Australasia.
  • Innovations we’re hoping to expand into are:

– How block-chain technology can help non-profits and for-purpose businesses track their supply chain and be more transparent with customers and donors where the money goes

– Using machine learning to provide better experiences for the clients and customers of charity support services (i.e. disability services, aged care, healthcare etc)

– Improving operations and efficiency through digital transformation and improved backend connectivity

– Creating new products and services to help organisations achieve their mission (apps, income streams, content, raise the voices of people with lived experiences)

  • We of course will continue with our core business of digital marketing and fundraising.
  • This partnership and growth trajectory allows us to make a bigger impact through philanthropy as well. Our 1% revenue pledge to charity will grow. Last year we donated $16,000 – it will grow making us as a collective, major donors with more skin in the game.

Mamta says: “One of our core values at Parachute is being BRAVE, so I’m stoked to continually shift as the digital landscape does, and step up to build a braver and bolder direction for our brilliant internal team, as well as the causes and orgs that we care about. We’re daring to do digital differently, and I’m glad to do it with these two brilliant women by my side.”

Marnie says; “I’m excited to have the opportunity to grow Parachute Digital through digital innovation and technology to provide better experiences for donors, customers and clients. The digital innovation space is growing all the time and I am thrilled to be able to work with for-purpose and not for profit sectors.”
